Bugatti has a likes building special edition Veyrons, and it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon.
The newest, and 16th special edition model to join the Veyron lineup is actually the first of a series that pays homage to stars in Bugatti’s history. The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Legends Jean-Pierre Wimille will debut at the upcoming 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and pays tribute to race car driver Jean-Pierre Wimille, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1937 behind the wheel of a Bugatti 57G Tank.
He again won the famous race in 1939 with a 57C Tank, and the special edition Veyron will sport a blue clear-coated carbon fiber design with contrasting “Wimille Bleu” paint. Inside, the matching interior is highlighted by a decal of Le Mans’ old Mulsanne circuit on the center console. The 8.0-liter, quad-turbo W16 engine remains unchanged with 1,184 horsepower.
Five more Veyron Legends are planned and will roll out over the course of next year.
